From 2002 until 2008 Arnika Wagner have studied Molecular Life Science at the University of Lübeck. She did her Bachelor’s Thesis at the Institute of Biochemistry about the cloning, characterization and crystallization of the GTPase FeoB from L. peumophila. She conducted her Master’s Thesis in the Institute for systemic Inflammation on the “Influence of IL-12 and IL-15 on Differentiation and Gene-Expression of murine Natural Killer Cells“.

Since March 2008 Arnika Wagner is working in the Laboratory of molecular genetics with Prof. Erdmann’s Group in cardiovascular genome research. Her project concentrates on the immunological aspects of atherosclerosis, particularly on activation and migration of hematopoietic cells into the atherosclerotic lesion.
